Oxalic acid (H2C2O4) is a chemical compound and is considered as a comparatively strong organic acid. It finds wide application in various household chemical products such as, rust proofing treatment products, and bleaches. Additionally, it is also used as additive to automotive wheel cleaners, and mordant in dyeing processes. It is also a good wood restorer where the acid dissolves away a layer of dry surface wood to expose fresh material underneath.
